Women's basketball squeaks by Brazil in final game

CBC SPORTS ONLINE - Canada had some rough goings in women's basketball in Sydney, but they finished off strong squeaking by Brazil 61-60 on Sunday in round robin play.

Led by Stacey Dales' 16 points, Canada came back from a 51-36 deficit late in the game to upset the Brazilians by one point.

Janeth Arcain led opponents with a game high 19 points. Her teammates Claudia Neves and Crisitina Helen Luz had 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Canada had a balanced attack with seven players scoring at least six points. They finished off their Olympic tournament with a round robin record of 2-3. Though Canada was tied with two other teams at 2-3, they don't advance to the medal rounds based on their points for and against.
