Sharon Bowes, a four-time Olympian from Waterloo, Ont., finished tied for 26th in the women's 50-metre rifle competition. Bowes, who has posted four top-10 Olympic finishes in her career, compiled a score of 571 points.

Cari Johnson from Campbell River, B.C., was 40th.

The top eight shooters advanced to the final.
