Silver for Canadians: Brianna Nelson 200 IM and
Valerie Grand'maison 100m Freestyle

Sept. 2, 2012 - Canadian swimmer Brianna Nelson won her second silver medal of the London 2012 Paralympic Games, in the women's 200 metre individual medley. Nelson finished in a time of three minutes, 4.6 seconds.

Nelson finished second behind Australian Jacqueline Freney who set a world record at 2:54.42. The bronze medal went to Min Huang of China.

Nelson previously won silver in the women's 50m butterfly, on Friday. She will race in a total of nine events at London 2012.

Valerie Grand-Maison struck silver in the women's 100m freestyle, narrowly missing the one minute mark with a time of 60.07 seconds. Grand-Maison also claimed the silver medal in the women's 50m freestyle, Saturday.

American Kelley Becherer won gold with a time of 59.56 seconds, while teammate Rebecca Anne Meyer earned bronze for the American team.
